Dave has been part of the Long Island music scene for nearly four decades. He is well known as a song writer, musician, performer, recording artist, and for his many years as a sound and stage engineer. Over the last few years he has become very active as an event organizer. He has been working along side Kevin Kovarik, playing a major roll in the planning, organization and promotion of these WUSB Benefit events.
Michele has a passion for the Long Island Original Music Scene that has driven her to follow and get to know the Long Island musicians, as well as their audiences. She has been photographing her own personal rockumentary along the way, which has brought her to this level of support. Her desire is to keep these voices heard on the WUSB Radio air waves, to maintain the archives, and to preserve the music history at this independent station. This is of great importance to her, and will continue to keep her enthusiasm far beyond this 2017 Benefest event.
Kevin has been an on air radio programmer with his Thursday morning show called “An Eclectic Mess” at WUSB 90.1fm, since 1988. He has always been a strong supporter of local music. In the late 90’s, Kevin had Finally Balanced on the air as the first live digital broadcast in the history of the station. Kevin continues to devote many of his shows to our local music, often having the artists come in to play live for the audience. In the last couple of years Kevin, along with Dave Christian, has been organizing a series of benefit concerts to raise funds for the station, to help insure its continued place in the current and future radio landscape. The 2017 WUSB BENEFEST is the latest of these fundraisers.
